In the Midst of Covid-19 and uncertain times, the best thing one can do is take care of yourself. From mental health to physical health you are the most important thing to you and no one will take care of you like YOU.
I am a big believer in putting yourself first. Not in a selfish or Egotistical kind of way, but in a way where you are aligned, aware, and in love with who you truly are. This way is the way that puts YOU first and will not allow anything or no one to dim your inner glow.
With Valentine's day coming up, keep in mind to put yourself first. We tend to lose sight of this even when life gets in the way and even when this holiday of love comes about - ask yourself if you are or at least have been showing yourself some love. If the answer is no, then it is time to make a change. Here are 5 simple tips for All things SELF
1. Practice SELF-care (exfoliate, lip care)
2. Practice Mindfulness and being in the present moment
3. Become one with yourSELF and Get aligned with your divine purpose
4. Take time to heal and nurture yourSELF
5. Be at peace with yourSELF (and understand that your present self does not owe your past self anything.
These may seem simple or easier said than done, and a few people may still not know where to start so here are a few things to assist you during your journey:
Connecting The Spiritual + The Mental + The Physical
Meditate - I get into the zone with binaural beats especially 432hz.
Read or Listen to a Podcast - There are so many books and podcasts out in the market or about to come out that could last us a lifetime. Recently, I've read The Conscious Language and The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment, and I've enjoyed them both for their own reasons - mainly because they both individually have helped with letting go of past traumas all while healing and being in the present moment - Highly Recommend both!
Fashion Focused: Get dressed - it's easy to get too comfortable, but we do not want to get to the point where we lose ourselves during this time of virtual working/ learning. Buy clothes ahead of time (ex: winter during summer, summer during winter - catch those sales!!
Exercise- do a squat challenge or a quick at-home workout. I love doing yoga and even attending at home virtual workout classes - Glow Up Dance Fitness with Stephanie is one of my personal favorites!
Do your Hair: Doing a scalp massage or deep conditioning treatment or trying a new hairstyle
Drink ALOT of water and Eat healthy foods
Cook - Get creative with your own recipes and while you're at it be sure to check out the Haus of Aaru || Recipe Journal.
Take a bath - create a space for you to rejuvenate. Light some candles, use your favorite bath oils or create a healing bath. (Click Here to read three of my favorite healing herbal bath recipes that you can make yourself.)
Create a safe space for yourself- one where you can journal, meditate pray. whether that be your home, your bedroom, a closet, when you take a bath, etc. - Your Zen Space
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize (especially during the winter months)
Most Importantly, take time to yourself until you are refreshed, renewed, and recharged. You have to define what self -care is for you, and only you can figure that out. To celebrate this month of love, I've decided to challenge myself to a 28-day self-care challenge using my personally curated list of things to do each day. Click Here to get your FREE copy now!
