Healthy Habits for 2021

Happy and Healthy New Year!! As we get through the second month of the new year, I just want to remind you that it is never to late to accomplish those health goals. I've created a list of healthy habits that you or anyone you know can implement into your daily life.

1. Create a Routine/Schedule

First thing's first, wake up early... now I am not talking about 4 or 5 am everyday - although that would be nice, at the least aim to be up every day by 8am the latest. Also, set your goals and intentions for the day each day to remind yourself of what is important. The key here is to not only have a routine or schedule, but to be disciplined and commit yourself to this. It will only benefit you in the long run.

2. Rest and Reset - Take care of your sleep Habits

Studies have shown how lack of sleep impacts your productivity and so much more. For the past year - I have been using a sleeping device to keep track of my sleeping patterns. I love this Oura Ring because it not only tracks your sleep and rates your sleep but also checks your heart rate, and provides so many valuable articles and resources.

3. Focus on your Well-being & Be Present - It is imperative that we learn to connect with ourselves and truly align with our higher self. Here are a few ways to go about doing that.

  • Drink ALOT of water and eat healthy whole foods. It is important to turly take care of your Whole-being (Internally and Externally).

  • Practice self-care (exfoliate, hair care, Keep toes done/well-manicured) Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize (especially during the winter) - I absoultely love this Kokum Body Butter by Obia Naturals, they are black owned and vegan! They even sell some of these products on Amazon!

  • Raise your vibration! Listen positive music and even vibrational healing frequencies such as 432hz or other binuarl beat sounds - for healing, mental clarity, and much more! I absolutely love using my crystal healing sound bath bowl - It definetly enhances my meditations.

Meditate: take some to be present and practice the art of being one with yourself and quieting your thoughts. Whether that be in silence on your own or with a guided meditation, meditation is defiently a great practice to explore.

  • Educate yourself

- Read books: whether that be fiction or non-fiction. I love self -help and mindset books that teaches me new concepts and empowers me to level up.

- Create a list of your favorite podcasts (they even have a new platform called Clubhouse that intitally serves as another podcast space - be sure to check that out)

- Take on a course or attend a webinar in your area - it is never to late to learn or try something new. So take that cooking class you have been holding off on or studt a new language that you have always wanted to study.

  • Focus on your Style: Purchase clothes ahead of time (ex: winter during summer, summer during winter - catch those sales!! Try your best not to get so comfortable with working/learning virtually that you let yourself go.

  • Take a Break: Cancel out all the noise by doing a social media/ TV/ News/ etc. cleanse. Give your mind a break from everything that is going on in this world. Really tune into yourself and focus on what is truly important.

**Occassionally turn off those alarms and notifications - especialy the ones that are not serving you, helping you with the growth of your finances, or teaching you in any way.

4. Forgive yourself and others for wrong doings

The key component in this is learning the art if letting go, whether that be people or things that are no longer serving you, and to heal from the past.

5. Hold yourself Accountable for your goals: set realistic deadlines for yourself and go over your goals daily. Decide, Commit, and take actions to getting those goals accomplished.
